Die Aufgaben

Wir suchen einen hochmotivierten und erfahrenen Projektleiter (m/w/d) für die Reinigung nativer Proteine, der unsere Reinigungsaktivitäten aus humanen Quellen isolierten Proteine betreut und weiterentwickelt.

Diese Position verbindet praktische wissenschaftliche Expertise mit Produktionsverantwortung und strategischer Weiterentwicklung. Die erfolgreiche Person übernimmt die Verantwortung für Reinigungsprozesse, stellt eine zuverlässige Produktion sicher und optimiert kontinuierlich bestehende Abläufe – mit einer Offenheit für innovative Ansätze und neue Technologien.

Wissenschaftliche & Technische Leitung

Leitung der Reinigung nativer Proteine aus humanem Ausgangsmaterial unter Einsatz moderner chromatographischer Verfahren (Affinitätschromatographie, Ionenaustauschchromatographie, Größenausschlusschromatographie, hydrophobe Interaktionschromatographie, FPLC, HPLC).
Entwicklung, Optimierung und Skalierung von Reinigungsprozessen zur Sicherstellung hoher Reinheit, Ausbeute und Reproduzierbarkeit.
Etablierung und Weiterentwicklung analytischer Methoden wie SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, Spektrophotometrie und Massenspektrometrie.
Bewertung und Implementierung neuer Reinigungstechnologien und -strategien zur Steigerung von Effizienz und Qualität.

Produktionsmanagement

Überwachung der täglichen Reinigungsaktivitäten und Sicherstellung einer konsistenten, hochwertigen Proteinproduktion.
Planung von Produktionsabläufen, Ressourcenzuteilung und Terminüberwachung.
Sicherstellung der ordnungsgemäßen Vorbereitung und Qualitätskontrolle von Puffern, Reagenzien und Geräten.
Einhaltung von Sicherheits-, Dokumentations- und regulatorischen Vorgaben.
Gewissenhafte Dokumentation und Chargenprotokollierung.

Teamkoordination & Zusammenarbeit

Fachliche Führung und Betreuung des technischen Personals im Bereich Proteinreinigung.
Förderung eines kooperativen und lösungsorientierten Arbeitsumfelds.
Zentrale Ansprechperson für proteinbezogene Projekte innerhalb des Unternehmens.
Einbringung von Ideen zur Erweiterung und Stärkung der Proteinreinigungsplattform.

Das Profil

Master- oder Promotionsabschluss in Biochemie, Molekularbiologie, Biotechnologie oder einem verwandten Fachgebiet.
Fundierte praktische Erfahrung in der Proteinreinigung, insbesondere aus nativen oder humanen Quellen.
Nachgewiesene Expertise im Umgang mit Chromatographiesystemen (FPLC, HPLC) sowie Methoden zur Proteincharakterisierung.
Erfahrung in der Organisation von Laborabläufen oder Produktionsprozessen.
Ausgeprägte Problemlösungskompetenz und lösungsorientierte Denkweise.
Fähigkeit, praktische Laborarbeit mit organisatorischer Verantwortung zu verbinden.
Sehr gute Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift (Deutschkenntnisse von Vorteil).

Your tasks

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Leader for Native Protein Purification to oversee and develop our purification activities focused on proteins isolated from human sources.
This position combines hands-on scientific expertise with production oversight and strategic development. The successful candidate will take ownership of purification workflows, ensure reliable production, and continuously improve processes while remaining open to innovative approaches and new technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Scientific & Technical Leadership
- Lead the purification of native proteins from human-derived materials using advanced chromatographic techniques (affinity chromatography, ion exchange, size exclusion, hydrophobic interaction, FPLC, HPLC).
- Design, optimize, and scale purification workflows to ensure high purity, yield, and reproducibility.
- Establish and refine analytical methods including SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, spectrophotometry, and mass spectrometry.
- Evaluate and implement new purification technologies and strategies to enhance efficiency and quality.
Production Management
- Oversee day-to-day purification activities and ensure consistent, high-quality protein production.
- Plan production schedules, allocate resources, and monitor timelines.
- Ensure proper preparation and quality control of buffers, reagents, and equipment.
- Maintain compliance with safety, documentation, and regulatory standards.
- Ensure meticulous record-keeping and batch documentation.
Team Coordination & Collaboration
- Supervise and mentor technical staff involved in purification activities.
- Foster a collaborative and solution-oriented working environment.
- Act as a key contact person for protein-related projects within the organization.
- Contribute ideas for expanding and strengthening the protein purification platform.

Your profile

Master’s or PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or related discipline.
Strong practical experience in protein purification, particularly from native or human-derived sources.
Proven expertise with chromatography systems (FPLC, HPLC) and protein characterization methods.
Experience managing laboratory workflows or production activities.
Strong troubleshooting skills and solution-driven mindset.
Ability to balance hands-on lab work with organizational responsibilities.
Very good English communication skills (German is an advantage).
